DocBook is a powerful open-source technical publishing
system that is well suited to many purposes. DocBook
is an open system, which means you can mix and match
software components from a variety of sources. Many
of the components are free, which can make a publishing
system highly cost effective. However, getting all those
components to work together can often be a challenge.
DITA is a recently developed architecture for task-oriented content. It emphasizes writing in modular units, and assembling modules as needed for specific publications. Many tools now support DITA, and more are coming.
Sagehill Consulting Services has the expertise and
experience to integrate open source and commercial DocBook
and DITA components into a smooth flowing system. Let us design
and set up an efficient and reliable technical publishing
system tailored to your needs.
The principal consultant at Sagehill is Bob
Stayton, who has been involved with DocBook since
its beginning in 1991 with the Davenport Group. See
his biography for more information.
