The "Alter a Billboard" article that Bob Stayton (aka William Board) wrote for The Coevolution Quarterly was noticed by the editors of The Alternative Press Annual, published by Temple University Press in Philadelphia. Every year the editors gather the best articles from various alternative publications and assemble them into an annual review. The review is distributed to libraries throughout the U.S.

This copy of the Alternative Press Annual 1983 resided in the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University from 1985 to 2004. It is not known how many Harvard students acted on the instructions.
